What does Asteroid 2011MD have in common with Planet X? Most of you may have heard of the asteroid 2011MD that just passed by us at about 7,500 miles out. Most people heard about this asteroid in the news today after it passed even though it has very lightly been in the news for about 3 days. NEWSFLASH!!! NASA miscalculated the time of this flyby by 3.5 hours.
For those of you who trust the equipment and the people that NASA uses to tell you what something is millions of miles away and when it will be here should consider this major miscalculation. This mistake was made after the worlds greatest astronomers had been studying this asteroid for 4 days. Not that I could do any better nor do I expect them to be perfect but once again, when we have a Government organization boasting about what something is made of in outer space or how it was born or showing us trajectory models of exactly when and where something is going then I say stop, think twice. We tend to believe their models and predictions are backed with tons of technology and money (after all we pay the taxes that pay for it all) but more so I think we want to believe their technical claims because they claim to know so much about things that are happening much much further out than 7,500 miles.
If they know so much about things so far away, then the things close to earth should be a slam dunk. To ad insult to injury, NASA has stated that this particular asteroid will visit us again in 2022 and it is likely to hit the earth but will probably breakup into many pieces and have little or no consequences. They went on to say that they are using this uniquely close flyby of this asteroid to study it with radar or radio waves. The insult here is saying we know that it will break apart in the atmosphere but we don’t know what it is made of yet. They will not know anything about the content or makeup of this asteroid until they do hit it with radar and or get a better trajectory on it by studying just how the asteroid reacts to the earths gravity along with other methods they used to determine the makeup of an asteroid but they cant do that until it passes. Then and only then can one make the bold claim that this particular asteroid will break up when it enters the atmosphere in 2022.
So the original question is what does planet x have to do with asteroid 2011md?
1. if the big dogs cant even predict the arrival of an asteroid that they have been tracking for 4 days then we should not trust any models for larger more threatening bodies like Elenin, yu55 etc.
2. If we are told the makeup an object in space before it passes by or gets close enough to observe completely, don’t take it for granted. For instance No one can say with certainty what Elenin is yet although NASA says its a comet and if it is “comet like” we cant say what it will do if we don’t know what it is made of.
3. If NASA says its not there or they cant see it, doesn’t mean its not there. This occurrence of sudden discovery of close encounter asteroids is becoming more frequent. These asteroids are making their way between earth and the moon and NASA didn’t know about it until days before it passed or impacted and some or most of those asteroids were discovered by amateurs.
Respect your amateur astronomers, they are the ones who have always made the difference for the common man throughout history. It was an amateur astronomer who predicted Planet X and found Pluto, and it will always be amateur astronomers who saves the day for us common folk.
