Global warming and the gold dust?

A recent proposal was defeated by the University of Bristol United Kingdom on the use of mirrors to reflect the amount of sunlight that comes into our atomosphere. http://dsc.discovery.com/news/2008/07/07/sunshade-warming.html I have read on websites saying that Planet X "Beings" gold dust used for the stabilization of the atomosphere. They did this because the atomosphere was bombarded by the sun. I'm not arguing if Planet X is real or not. My question is will that really work? Is this a theory that can be explored to solve this problem of global warming? The University of Bristol suggests whether reducing the amount of heat entering the atomostphere slow global warming. So, basically, or it might dust of gold theory work?

All particles small enough to remain suspended in the atmosphere much time would be too small to act as reflectors, so any type of dust would have the same effect. However, being very dense, not stay long, so it could be among the less suitable materials. So no, the history of gold dust is no more credible than the rest of the planet X the fairy stories. The ideas I've seen to block sunlight in orbit around the polished metal plates require small above the atmosphere. Aluminum material would be much more convenient than gold, and its reflectivity is almost as high. It seems to be many effects undesirable side if, as interfere with satellite communications and create a great threat to all forms of space traffic.
